A MAN whose grandad is in a Dodworth care home is running two miles every day this month to make residents more comfortable.

Jordan Zaszlos, 36, from Gilroyd, will run two miles every day this month to raise around £1,000 for new seats at Rosehill Care Home.

His grandad, Peter, arrived at the home in November with Alzheimer’s and Jordan said the care he has received is worthy of some recognition.

He told the Chronicle: “My nannan was getting poorly looking after him as he’s in the later stages of Alzheimer’s so he was taken to the home just before Christmas.

“The staff there are absolutely fantastic but the building itself is getting a bit tired.

“Where the residents sit in the lounge, the chairs are a bit uncomfortable.

“I was thinking about what I could do to help out and so I’m going to be running two miles every day in March.

“I’m hoping to raise £1,000 but obviously more is always better.

“It would be nice to get some comfortable reclining chairs for them.”
