HOUGHTON Main’s new Indian signing Vikas Dixit took seven wickets as they began their season with a home win over Wath in the South Yorkshire Championship.

Houghton made 149 with Adam Wiles hitting 51, while Wath’s Shawn Hopkins took four wickets and Rob Barlow three. Wath collapsed from 64 for three to 100 all out with Dixit taking seven for 34.

Newly-promoted Darfield won by a wicket at home to Doncaster Town 2nd XI.

The visitors were skittled for 102 with Riecko Parker-Cole taking four for 30 and Jake Marshall three for 19.

Kastun Stoute hit 42 off 27 balls and Lewis Pike 30 off 11 but Darfield collapsed from 89 for three to 101 for nine before scrambling home.

ROCKINGHAM dismissed hosts Rotherham Town for 89 in a nine-wicket Division One win.

Peter Lomas took six for 28 and Jordan Hanson four for 27.

Green Moor were dismissed for 151 chasing 284 at Wickersley 2nd XI.

Monk Bretton dismissed Kexborough for 105 in a five-wicket Division Three win.

Ashley Clayton took four wickets then top-scored with 35 not out.
