WOMBWELL Main are top of the County Senior Premier Division heading into the final weeks of the season.

They won 4-2 at home to Oughtibridge on Wednesday. Finley Durkin scored twice with Ryan Wingrove and Atley Jackson also netting.

They have also been given three points from the game at North Gawber in February which was called off due to violence with Main winning late on.

They are top on goal difference with two games left but second-placed Swinton Athletic have a game in hand.

Main are relying on their fellow Barnsley clubs to help them as Swinton play Wombwell Town twice before ending their season against third-placed Dodworth MW who are also in the title race.

Wombwell Town won 10-0 at Ecclesfield Red Rose. Bradley Kerr hit a hat-trick with Eddie Agnew and Connor Peace bagging braces. Brodie Cooper and Louis Wardle also scored.

That left Town fifth. They need to finish in the top five and pass a ground grading inspection in order to be accepted into the Northern Counties East League for next season.

Town then won 5-1 at South Kirkby in the League Cup on Wednesday. Kerr hit another hat-trick, Agnew and Jono Davis also struck.

Silkstone United won 2-1 at Thorncliffe in Division One. Joseph Middleton and Hidde Versloot scored.
