A CELEBRATION was held for Dickie Bird who turned 90 last week.

The Mayor of Barnsley, Coun Sarah Tattersall, invited Dickie and a few of his friends into her parlour on Wednesday, to mark the special occasion.

She said: “He is a fantastic local celebrity whose achievements over his lifetime and donations to charity have really put Barnsley on the map.”
