BARNSLEY cricketer Katherine Sciver-Brunt and her wife have become the first LGBTQ+ couple to read a CBeebies bedtime story.

The 37-year-old cricketer from Dodworth read the story, which was aired for the first time last Friday, with her wife and fellow England cricketer Nat.

They appeared on the children’s show from Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, which will host the opening match of both the Women’s Ashes and the third year of The Hundred later this year.

They read Find Your Happy by Emily Coxhead, a book about what it is to feel happy - and were the first LGBTQ+ couple to ever appear on the show.

Katherine said: “We had a lot of fun.

“We’re delighted to have been a part of it, especially as a couple and representing the cricket family.

“It’s really nice to be able to do something so different and hopefully our nieces and nephews will enjoy watching us read a CBeebies Bedtime Story.”
