A CHARITY car wash event that took place last weekend to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHS raised more than £5,000.
AN Car Hire, on Lambra Road, hosted the event to express their gratitude and support for the NHS, while also raising money for Barnsley Hospital Charity, an organisation who provide vital resources and support to the Barnsley Hospital.
Ahilan Ratnasingham, who works for the company, told the Chronicle the event brought together individuals, families, and community members, who all participated in an enjoyable activity while contributing to a worthy cause.
The hospital charity said they were ‘genuinely moved’ by the incredible generosity of Ahilan, his brother Sanuj and their colleagues and went on to thank everyone who supported the event and made a donation.
In total, £5,150 was raised thoughout the course of the day.
