BARNSLEY RUFC suffered a seventh loss from seven games this season while Wath made it seven wins from seven.

The Shaw Laners lost 26-11 at home to Yorkshire League Three leaders Northallerton, who have won all their games.

Barnsley are bottom of the division, three points behind second-bottom Burley – who they visit in their next game on November 4 – and seven adrift in the bottom two.

Although there are 15 matches to play, the Shaw Laners are in danger of a second successive relegation after finishing last in Yorkshire League Two last season while losing 22 matches including ten which they withdrew from due to a lack of players.

Including this season, they have lost or conceded all of their last 29 games.

Meanwhile, Wath won 28-17 at home to Hemsworth in Yorkshire Division Two.

Tries by Luke Stead, twice, Adam Clark and Rory Anderson were all converted by Jack Whitlam.

Wath went 21-0 and 28-5 ahead before a late fightback by the visitors.

They are now ten points clear at the top of the league.

Although the men’s teams are not due to play league games this weekend, Barnsley Ladies are set to visit Kenilworth in the Championship North on Saturday afternoon.
