Barnsley are hoping their third incoming signing of the January transfer window will be confirmed on Friday.
The Reds are thought to have loaned in a midfielder but the deal is yet to be ratified by the authorities.
It follows the signing of defenders Donovan Pines and Josh Earl.
They were hoping to sign a striker but it did not happen.
The Reds have loaned out a series of players this window including on deadline day when Callum Styles joined Sunderland, with a buy clause, while centre-backs Jack Shepherd and Kacper Lopata have joined League One strugglers Cheltenham and Port Vale until the summer.

It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
