A WOMAN who was so popular she couldn’t go anywhere alone has died at 91.
Olive Andrews - who was known by some as ‘Mrs Birdwell’ - spent her life getting involved in everything she could to benefit her community.
Her son, Chris, told the Chronicle: “She did lots for the community, from the ladies club to raising funds for the community hall, she was always getting involved and did everything she could.
“It meant that she couldn’t go anywhere on her own, she always had a bus load of people with her.
“When I was a kid we went to Spain and she filled the plane with people for the trip - when have you ever heard of someone filling a plane?
“Dad died a fortnight before.
“She had said before that once dad had gone she’d be ready to go too.
“Two weeks and three days later she was gone - she’s joined him now.”
