BARNSLEY Women’s FC drew 1-1 at Leeds United, leaving them eight points off the only promotion place with three games left.

The Reds are fourth in National League Division One North, the fourth tier in England.

They looked favourites for the title in January after winning nine of their first ten games but have won just two of the last nine.

Louise Biggins headed them in front at the break but Leeds levelled direct from a corner.

Barnsley now have three games remaining, starting at second-bottom York City on Sunday.

BWFC are now managed by former Leeds boss Dan O’Hearne after Lois Daniels left the club by mutual consent.

Meanwhile, Barnsley FC women return to action after two weeks off at Alnwick on Sunday.

The Reds are second in the North East Premier, off top on goal difference.

Penistone Church lost 4-0 to AFC Bentley in Division One of the Sheffield and Hallamshire League.

Penistone are now due to visit Handsworth.

Wombwell Town lost 4-1 at home to Kiveton in Division Four.

Town now host Hemsworth on Sunday.

AFC Pogmoor host Mind Over Matter in a top of the table clash.
