LONG-AWAITED plans to redevelop Hoyland's market and town centre have taken another twist – leaving traders confused about details of the scheme.

This week, they revealed they had met with developer Resilienti and Barnsley Council but were baffled to find the plans had changed since last summer.

In a new plan, the Co-op supermarket - originally earmarked for demolition with the town hall - is now staying put and the market is being moved to a spot between Ladbrokes and the Co-op.

The latest timescale is for public consultation on February 27 and for a planning application to go in to Barnsley Council by March 30. The aim is to get the market moved by June 2016.
