Hoylandswaine's captain believes they can win all five trophies this season after they triumphed at local rivals Cawthorne to make it 19 wins from 19 games so far in 2018.

The Tuesday evening derby was the final match in the Twenty20 Cup group, from which Swaine had already qualified for next week's quarter-finals. They are also top of the Premiership and in the semi-finals of both the Sykes Cup and Heavy Woollen Cup while they still have the Black Sheep Trophy to start.

Swaine have been regular trophy winners in the last decade and captain SP Singh, who has been with the Haigh Lane outfit for five seasons, believes this could be their best ever year. He said: "I have been playing for 17 years in this league and this is the best side I've played in.

"We always have a great side but this year we have some really good youngsters and some amazing signings like Saeed Anwar who has played for 15 years in First Class cricket and Alex Lees who is a Yorkshire player. There's a lot of experience because many of us have played professionally in the past. We just have a bit of magic about this team. We're playing as a team, understanding each other and backing each other up."

Asked if he believed Hoylandswaine could win every game this season, Singh said: "This is cricket so we can't say that we will win them all. That will be very, very difficult, but I would love to do it. I hope we will win every trophy. We could win five. I think we can do it. We need to focus on the Heavy Woollen because we have lost the final three years in a row. We have started very well and we want this run to go on as long as possible."

On Tuesday, Cawthorne lost a wicket off the first ball and were 39 for three before a stand of 106 between home captain Liam Wiles, who made 50 off 27 balls, and Jacob Deavin-Baker with 54 from 33. But Singh removed them both then three Ben Potter wickets restricted the hosts to 167 for eight. Swaine opener Chris Holliday hit 72 off 37 balls with three sixes and ten fours as they won with seven wickets and 13 balls to spare.

Singh said: "We love playing Cawthorne. We are from Barnsley, they are from Barnsley. It's a beautiful ground with a good surface and always a good crowd."

Swaine had beaten Delph and Dobcross on Saturday to stay top of the Premiership. The visitors were skittled for 93 chasing 220. Adnan Ghani took four for 17 off ten overs while Gurman Randhawa, who had earlier made 54 with the bat, took three for four off three overs. Swaine are 11 points clear of second-placed Honley after winning all ten of their completed matches this season, with one called off due to bad weather.

Bottom side Cawthorne were bowled out for 267 chasing 305 at Moorlands. Both Ibrar Latif and Wiles made 75 for Cawthorne.
