Kieffer Moore expects to spend the upcoming season with Barnsley and hopes he will have Tom Bradshaw up front alongside him.

Both strikers have been the subject of several bids from Championship clubs during the transfer window which closes on Thursday. Moore, who turns 26 on Wednesday, told the Chronicle: "My main focus is on Barnsley.

"Until anything else happens, I am a Barnsley player and I will give everything I have got for the club. It's obvious that I want to be playing in the Championship. That's where I see myself. But I am looking at this as just one season in League One then we will be back to where we should be.

"It (the speculation linking him with a move) has not really been unsettling, it's part and parcel of football now. There will always be stuff happening behind the scenes but it's all about being professional, knowing you are contracted to a club and making sure your main focus is on that club."

Barnsley believe Moore and Bradshaw – who both have good records in League One – can score enough goals to fire them back into the Championship. He sees it is a compliment that the club have 'played hardball' in rejecting bids of more than £1million for him, with clubs such as Preston North End interested.

Moore said: "I believe it is vital we keep everyone. The nucleus of the squad is very good. We should definitely keep Bradders, I have a good partnership with him. It's a good confidence-booster knowing that they see me as a vital part of this project of coming back up at the first attempt."

Midfielder Brad Potts has also been the subject of a rejected bid from a Championship club several weeks ago. He told the Chronicle: "I definitely see myself at Barnsley for this season. Whatever goes on in the background, I just concentrate on football. As a footballer, you will hear these things but you just have to put it to the back of your mind and get on with your job.

"It's good for the squad if the manager wants to keep us all and the board are backing him. We know that, if everyone stays together, we will have a really good chance of promotion."

Centre-back Liam Lindsay was one of Barnsley's star performers last season and has been monitored by various clubs, although they are thought to have been put off by the Reds putting a multi-million pricetag on him.

He told the Chronicle: "Until anything comes up, you never know what is true or false. I have just been thinking about Barnsley through pre-season and that will be the same until I know otherwise. It's Barnsley, 100 per cent."
