Award-winning full-back James Bree will either go on to break Barnsley's appearance record or bring in the club another substantial fee.

That is the view of head coach Paul Heckingbottom who was at the ceremony where Bree, 18, picked up the League One apprentice of the year award. Heckingbottom said: "Everyone at the club is delighted for James and I know his parents are especially delighted.

"He is in good company there with the other players who have won the award. He's getting some good recognition amongst his peers. It's really good for us as a football club.

"My personal view on James is that he will end up breaking our appearance record here or we will make money off him. Either way we have got to be happy and pleased."
