Barnsley have been drawn at home to Manchester City under 21s in the first knockout round of the Checkatrade Trophy on December 4 or 5.

The Reds won Group F after 2-1 victories over Oldham Athletic and Bradford City as well as a penalty shoot-out success over Everton under 21s.

Barnsley are in the last 32 and, after the next round, there are two further rounds in January before the regional two-legged finals in February and the Wembley final on March 31.

The Reds won the competition when it was called the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in 2016 and have not lost in it in ten fixtures since 2014.
