TEMPORARY scaffolding currently being installed on the Grade I listed Wentworth Woodhouse will provide protection for the building while conservation work is underway.

Heritage and conservation expert, Woodhead Group, has been appointed to carry out the repair, restoration and replacement of the stately home’s 1,486 square metre roof, with scaffolding company, Lyndon SGB, brought in to install the 10,000 square metres of scaffold.

It will take up to three months to fully install the scaffolding and it will reach 30 metres in height - which is as high as six double decker buses.

The scaffolding will incorporate almost 300 stairs and two specialist accessible lifts which will be used by the public when fully installed.
