Kenneth Dougall has become Barnsley's first signing of the summer.
The 25-year-old Australian defensive midfielder signed a two-year deal and joins from Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam for an undisclosed fee. The club also has an option to extend the contract to three years.
Dougall – who can also play in central defence – has spent four years in Holland, starting with a season at second tier Telstar.
He then moved to Sparta with whom he reached the top flight, before being relegated last season after making 29 appearances.
