A PROBE which was launched after a 16-year-old football fan was injured in a brawl outside Barnsley Interchange last season has ended.

A video, which appeared to show an on-duty officer hitting the teenager with a baton, was shared on social media following the Reds’ clash with Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell on February 8.

An Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) spokesman confirmed its investigation had ended and its findings had been shared with South Yorkshire Police.

They added: “Once this process is complete and we have shared our findings with other interested parties we will consider releasing further details from our investigation.”
