AN ELDERLY woman has suffered ‘life-threatening’ injuries and remains in critical condition following a reported collision with a passing car in Hoyland Common.

On Thursday, December 3, at around 12.47pm, police were called to Hoyland Road following reports of a pedestrian being hit by an oncoming car.

An 80-year-old woman is believed to be in critical condition at Barnsley Hospital.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “It is believed that an 80-year-old woman was involved in a collision with a red Nissan Juke.

“The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance and remains in a critical condition.

“Her injuries are believed to be life-threatening.”
