BIN men in Barnsley are now receiving more training after a member of staff was was pulled into the air by the hoist at the rear of the vehicle in a ‘very frightening’ incident earlier this year.
The worker involved was not seriously injured by the ordeal in January but subsequent training was given by Barnsley Council to avoid any similar accidents occurring in the future.
Coun Chris Lamb, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: “As a result of an investigation, staff are now receiving more and updated training to ensure that they all work safely at all times.”
