A MAN was arrested on Boxing Day after a Christmas Day mugging.
At around 8.30pm, police were called to Mapplewell after a 62-year-old woman was robbed.
She was walking on Mapplewell Drive when a man approached her and stole her handbag and phone, leaving her with minor injuries.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “The man fled in the direction of Towngate. He was confronted by a member of the public who was able to recover the victim’s phone.
“A 34-year-old man was arrested on December 26 on suspicion of robbery.”
