A FUNDRAISING team whose efforts haven’t been slowed by the pandemic have cycled across the country in a bid to raise more cash for charity.
The group - Little and Large - have spent two years tirelessly fundraising for Barnsley Hospice.
While the pandemic did slow down fundraising efforts, creator Gavin Coles, from Athersley, and his team of eager fundraisers - Scott Thresh, Terence Thornton, David Parsons, Craig Osbourne and Jez Barnes - got back into the saddle and cycled across the country in just one weekend.
Their mission took them from Southport to Hornsea and totalled more than 200 miles.
This challenge has raised Little and Large’s total to almost £40,000.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
