AN inquest into a care home resident’s death following a fall has been rescheduled after witnesses failed to attend the hearing.

The inquest into Michael Kitching’s death was set to be held at Sheffield’s Medico Legal Centre on Monday.

Mr Kitching, 69, died in hospital on November 15, 2020, after being found with a head injury caused by an apparent fall at Eboracum House on Park Grove, Barnsley.

The home’s manager at the time of the incident didn’t attend on Monday despite being asked by the coroner.

The inquest has been rearranged to take place on March 31.
