A POLICE chase ended dramatically with a three-vehicle collision and a man receiving hospital treatment.
Just before 11am on Wednesday, the driver of an Abarth 500 reacted when approached by police officers on Summer Lane, Barnsley.
A spokesperson for the force said: “As officers engaged in a pursuit, the Abarth lost control on Wombwell Lane, and collided with a Renault van and a Ford Fiesta.
“The driver of the Abarth, a man from Barnsley, suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to hospital, where he remains receiving treatment.
“An investigation into the circumstances is underway.
“The drivers of the van and fiesta both suffered minor injuries.
“The Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) have been notified.”
