BARNSLEY East MP Stephanie Peacock has condemned the Russian leader’s attack on Ukraine and expressed her support for Ukrainians.

Ms Peacock signed a book of solidarity for Ukraine in Parliament following the attack led by Vladimir Putin and has encouraged the people of Barnsley to continue lending their support to charities that help refugees.

Stephanie has called for the ‘strictest possible sanctions’ on the Russian regime.

“Putin's attack on Ukraine is a heinous violation of international law,” she said.

“I stand firmly with Ukraine and know everyone across Barnsley is thinking about the Ukrainian people at this awful time.

“I've had a number of people contact me to say they are feeling helpless watching the news and want to offer their support.

“Major charities such as UNICEF, Choose Love and the British Red Cross are asking for donations.

“I will also collate a list of local charities and donation points and share these as they become available.”
