DOCTOR Who and his sidekick will be heading to Barnsley this month as part of the town’s Comic-Con.
Elsecar Comic-Con will be held at the Heritage Centre, on Wath Road, on May 22.
There’s a number of special guests - including the seventh Doctor Who, Sylvester McCoy, and his companion Sophie Aldred.
There’s plenty of photo opportunities, and this year there will even be a ‘Cosplay Championship’ for those who attend to take part in.
Sharon Hall, of Unleashed Events, said: “If you have never been to a comic-con before then Elsecar Comic-Con is a great place to start.
“It has a little bit of everything for everyone.
“It is great to see kids meeting their ‘real’ superhero as well as a chance to see some unusual geeky merchandise that you simply wouldn’t find on the high street.
“Elsecar Heritage Centre is a great day out but with our Doctor Who guests, Star Wars costumers and even a Transformer - it will simply be out of this world.”
