BARNSLEY no longer has the worst Covid death rate in the United Kingdom.
The town’s current rate - where deaths within 28 days of a positive test are concerned - is 458.3 per 100,000.
Barnsley is the second-worst hit town in the country, now behind Blackpool.
Two residents have died in the borough within a month of a positive test in June.
