OFFICERS from across the county descended on Barnsley this week as Operation Duxford returned.
South Yorkshire Police pooled resources together on Wednesday, bringing in specialist teams to carry out patrols and execute warrants.
The Barnsley North East Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) paid a visit to scrapyards carrying out checks and speaking to them about crime trends with partners from the British Transport Police, Barnsley Council and the Environment Agency.
Mounted teams from SYP took to the town centre with Barnsley Central NPT, much to the excitement of the public who posed for photos with the horses.
Elsewhere in New Lodge, officers from Barnsley North NPT were carrying out enforcement and engagement patrols - including tenancy cautions - in support of work done by Barnsley Council.

Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
