A FUNDRAISER will be held to raise cash for a five-year-old who is battling cancer.

Carter Jones has a Wilms tumour - a rare childhood cancer which affects just 80 children every year - and subsequent scans have shown that the cancer has spread to Carter’s vena cava, the main vein to the heart.

He underwent an open heart bypass recently and will need a further six months of chemotherapy.

The shocking diagnosis came on June 26, a day that started like any other.

A fundraising day will be held on Saturday at The Bridge Inn, Monk Bretton, from 3pm.
