THE best and worst times to visit Barnsley Hospital’s A and E department have been revealed.
NHS Digital figures who that the worst hour of the week to visit the department was between 12am and 1am on Tuesdays.
Patients were forced to wait an average of six hours and 12 minutes to be either admitted to an inpatient ward, transferred elsewhere or discharged.
Whilst between 9am and 10am on Thursday, patients only had tow wait an average of two hours and 31 minutes.
Of the seven days of the week, Monday was the worst day overall to visit A and E at Barnsley Hospital, with patients waiting an average of three hours and 56 minutes, while Thursday was the best, when the average wait time dropped to three hours and 25 minutes.
Monday saw the highest average number of patients attending across the year, while Saturday saw the lowest.
