BARNSLEY Hospital bosses are asking staff who have worked there to send in stories ahead of its 75th anniversary.
The National Health Service will celebrate its 75th birthday on July 5.
A hospital spokesperson said: “When it was founded in 1948, the NHS was the first universal health system to be available to all, free at the point of delivery.
“Those principles remain as relevant, and valued, today as they did in the years after the Second World War.
“And since then, the NHS has innovated and adapted to meet the needs of each successive generation, always putting patients at the heart of everything it does.”
As part of the celebration, the hospital are asking anyone who has worked at the site over the last 75 years to send in their memories.
Stories can be sent into communications@barnsley.nhs.net.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
