A WOMAN was threatened with an axe in Barnsley town centre on Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to Bridge Street, Barnsley, at 9.20am following report that a man had been threatened by an armed man.
A police spokesperson told the Chronicle: “Kelham Hendley, 30, was arrested after we responded to reports that a woman had been threatened with a weapon outside a property on Bridge Street at around 9.20am.
“On Wednesday, he was charged with three offences - threatening a person with an offensive weapon, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.
“Hendley, of Bridge Street, has been remanded in to custody while he awaits court.”
