A BARNSLEY author will hold a book launch in the town centre next Friday.

Amber Guymer-Hosking, 34, who used to live in a mix of friends’ houses, hostels and on the streets, is now living in Mexborough after the Help 4 Homeless Veterans Charity put her up in a bungalow.

Amber released ‘The Veterans Poems’ after her biography - ‘Her Heart of Survival and Hope’ and ‘Quotes of Inspiration: A Simple Book’.

The ex-army medical technician has curated this collection of veteran and civilian poems in a bid to raise money and awareness for homeless ex-service people and those suffering with PTSD.

“Help 4 Homeless Veterans does such good work for those in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire that it just made sense to hold the book launch here at their office,” Amber said.

“It’s a wonderful charity that supported me and my son through homelessness in Barnsley and I’m delighted to be able to give something back.”
