BARNSLEY house prices dropped more than anywhere else in Yorkshire in March, new figures have revealed.
The average Barnsley house price in March was £161,256, Land Registry figures show - a 2.8 per cent decrease on February.
Over the month, the picture was different to that across Yorkshire and the Humber, where prices decreased 2.1 per cent, and Barnsley was lower than the 1.2 per cent drop for the UK as a whole.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Barnsley rose by £8,300 - putting the area seventh among Yorkshire and the Humber’s 15 local authorities with price data for annual growth.
