BARNSLEY FC Community Trust has re-launched the Reds Against Hunger campaign in partnership with Barnsley Foodbank.

The re-launch will see the club’s charity wing’s students take part in monthly volunteer sessions at the foodbank warehouse to help sort and pack food hampers for people in need throughout the community.

Head of education Sarah Garside said, “After visiting the foodbank with some students during the EFL week of Action in November we were happy to be able to build on our partnership with them.

“We have seen first-hand how important volunteers are in the general day-to-day running of the foodbank.

“It is an eye-opening experience and I think it will be beneficial for our students to see how they work via the monthly voluntary initiative.”

A donation drive will also be held at Barnsley FC’s League One fixture at Oakwell against Reading on April 13 where fans will be able to bring in donations.

If fans would like to donate but aren’t attending the match, they can do so by using the Barnsley FC Community Trust Building as a drop off point the week prior to the game.
