Katherine Brunt was part of the England Women team who won salvaged a draw in the Ashes series which finished today.

The tourists were 6-4 down on the points system going into the three Twenty20 matches which completed the tour. Australia won the first T20 so they went 8-4 up and would definitely keep the Ashes as, even if England won the last two matches to draw 8-8, the trophy would remain with the holders.

On Sunday, Brunt smashed 32 not out off 24 balls to lead England to 152 for six in the second Twenty20 then took two for ten in her four overs to bowl Australia out for 112. She took another wicket as England won the third match today with Danielle Wyatt smashing 100 as they chased 178.

Brunt, from Dodworth, is now due to stay 'down under' to play for Perth Scorchers in the Women's Twenty20 Big Bash League.
