A LOCAL business has been featured on national TV.

This week’s finale of The Real Housewives of Cheshire featured a showstopper cake created by Royston cakemaker, Cherry Cakes.

Owner Tracey Timmins, 36, from Notton, noticed a call for independent businesses back in April and after cast member Dawn Ward - wife of former Reds’ striker Ashley Ward - saw the Instragram photos of Tracey’s creations, she was invited to attend filming.

Tracey’s show-stopping cake had rainbow colouring to match the Gay Pride event she was invited to bake for.

She described all the cast and crew as an absolute dream to work with and said she has watched the show from the beginning. While on set, she met various cast members and celebrities including Ashley Ward, Charlotte Dawson and Christine Martin.

There are no other TV projects lined up but the success of the event meant Tracey was asked to create a birthday cake for Dawn. She was complimented because her cakes tasted as good as they looked.

Cherry Cakes was established in 2011 and cake lovers can try Tracey’s recipes for themselves when she bakes for Notton gala in June.
