BARNSLEY College tutors went on strike on Tuesday claiming their pay has fallen 17 per cent in recent years when compared with the cost of living.
The University and College Union is calling for a £1 per hour pay increase, but the Association of Colleges recommended a pay freeze, and Barnsley College has followed its recommendation.
College remained open on Tuesday although there was some disruption - about half of the tutors are UCU members.
