A CUDWORTH couple will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday.
Jim and Joyce Bramley, of Storrs Mill Road, will mark the diamond occasion with a family meal at Vissett Cottage.
The pair, who have three children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, had their first date at Pontefract Park and it’s something that certainly sticks in their mind.
“We were on the park’s lake in a boat and we decided to go to the island in the middle,” Joyce said. “He left me there until I screamed for him to come and pick me up. He’s always been a bit of a joker.”
Jim added: “I suppose the secret is to give and take, I think that that’s what it’s all about. I say I deserve a medal but we love each other dearly and have shared many hobbies together.”
