THE trust which runs two hospitals in Barnsley has implemented an action plan to improve standards of care and treatment across its services after an inspection found it required improvement.

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SWYFT) provides services across Barnsley and West Yorkshire including inpatient, community and day clinics - it also runs Mount Vernon and Kendray Hospitals.

It was inspected by the Care Quality Commission and was required to make mental health services safer, more effective, more responsive and well led.

A report by the CQC into the inspection will be considered by a Barnsley Council watchdog next week.
