Barnsley winger Lloyd Isgrove has moved to promotion rivals Portsmouth on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old has not been in a matchday squad since coming off the bench against Pompey in December which was the second of just two league appearances this season.

Portsmouth are the bitter rivals of his boyhood club Southampton and are a place and a point above Barnsley.

Isgrove, who is out of contract in the summer, is the second player to go to a promotion rival this window after George Moncur was sold to leaders Luton Town.

In total Isgrove has played 59 games for Barnsley, scoring two goals. He impressed on loan to the Reds during their 2015/16 promotion season, scoring in the League One play-off final win at Wembley. He then returned on a permanent basis a year later but has struggled with injuries and started just ten games in a season and a half.

The January transfer window closes tomorrow, with the Reds hoping to bring in Middlesbrough's 21-year-old striker George Miller on a permanent deal.
