Barnsley made it back-to-back pre-season draws as their friendly against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday ended 2-2.

 

New signing Jon Cofie was not in the side but Spanish trailist Cristian Lopez, who used to play for Real Madrid B and Valencia B, played the final 20 minutes up front.

 

The visitors took the lead after three minutes when Zeki Ismail volleyed home Jake Cassidy's right-wing cross but Jacob Mellis levelled two minutes later with a fine finish from the edge of the box.

 

Wolves retook the lead on 20 minutes when poor defending allowed former Sheffield Wednesday man Danny Batth the chance to glance in a head from Sam Ricketts' cross. The League One club then almost made it 3-1 when Cassidy headed against the post.

 

Barnsley, who played in the 3-5-2 formation for most of the game, were better afterv the break and levelled on 58 minutes through a fine left-footed finish by Chris O'Grady. New signing Dale Jennings wowed the crowd with a some fine outches in a 30-minute cameo.

 

Manager David Flitcroft said: "I'm not happy with the two goals we conceded but at least we've got them out of the way in this game. The goals we scored were excellent and it was another good workout."

 

The Reds drew 1-1 with Club Brugge in their first pre-season match on Friday and will host Bordeux on Thursday.
