THREE daytime burglaries in three days were reported just a few hundred yards apart but police say the number of burglaries is still falling dramatically - down by 40 per cent in February.

Chelsea Tucker said she has been left terrified after arriving home to find the glass in her double glazed patio doors smashed by thieves who stole electrical goods, clothes and shoes worth an estimated £3,500.

It was one of three similar break-ins in consecutive days, all in the Measbrough Dike area on two estates off Doncaster Road.

All three incidents took place in the afternoon and all involved glass being smashed to gain entry. Police are treating them as linked.

“It was really scary, and I do feel very uncomfortable about it now, you just don’t know who’s out there,” said 23-year-old nurse Chelsea, of Barnsbridge Grove.
