A PUPIL caught selling antidepressants as 'happy pills' has been expelled from Barnsley Academy, the Chronicle understands.

Several other pupils were also excluded over their involvement and police attended the school yesterday.

A spokesman for the school said: "We have a zero tolerance of any inappropriate behaviour that could be deemed to be linked to drugs, prescription or otherwise and, like all good schools, we will take the firmest action against any student who breaks these rules and will liaise with the relevant authorities as to any further action they may wish to take."
