LEAD was stripped from the roofs of about 30 homes in a mini crime wave spanning several weeks.
Bungalows on the Athersley South estate had the lead flashing stolen from their chimney pots in the dead of night, a community safety meeting has been told.
Coun Sarah Tattersall, who represents the Athersley area, told the North / West Local Policing Team meeting on Monday how there had been a major issue since the last meeting with a spate of lead thefts over the course of about three weeks.
Berneslai Homes’ properties were the main target but some private homes were also affected.

Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
