A PRIMARY school continues to be rated ‘good’ following its first Ofsted inspection since being taken over by an academy trust.
Kexborough Primary School, on Ballfield Lane, was deemed an ‘inclusive school with a real sense of family’ - with particular praise given to the enthusiasm of pupils towards learning, their behaviour, and teaching of reading and writing.
The report states: “Pupils learn how to write for a range of purposes.
“They get lots of opportunities to apply their writing skills in different subjects. They do this well.”
The school was last inspected in July 2014 and three years after that inspection was converted into an academy, joining the Every Child Matters trust.
The ECM trust also runs Hoyland Springwood Primary School, High View Primary Learning Centre and Park Street Primary School in Wombwell, and Wellgate Primary School in Mapplewell.
