BARNSLEY has been awarded a share of over £56m from the government to tackle youth crime.
It will receive £90,000 this year followed by £700,000 to implement a government proposals over three years.
Measures include laws to take young people off the streets at night, street-based youth workers including ex-gang members, more police patrols after school and extra activities for youths.
