THE number of patients with Covid-19 at Barnsley Hospital has almost doubled in the last week.
There are currently 29 patients with the virus, though there are no patients in ventilation beds.
It brings the total number of residents admitted to hospital with coronavirus since the start of the pandemic to 5,446.
Barnsley’s infection rate currently stands at 52.4 per 100,000 residents.
