SOUTH Yorkshire Police’s officers used force more often last year than they did before the pandemic, new figures have revealed.
Home Office statistics show the number of incidents in which South Yorkshire Police used force rose to 6,845 in the year to March, from 6,806 in 2019/2020 - the year before the coronavirus pandemic.
Of the incidents last year, 922 resulted in the subject being injured.
