TELEVISION star Shaun Dooley returned to Barnsley for a special visit to Goldthorpe Primary Academy.
The school welcomed the actor last Friday where he greeted pupils, signed autographs and got to know about the work the school is doing.
Each classroom is named after a local celebrity, with a shipping container in the playground displaying their pictures - Shaun is the first to visit and sign his name on the classroom door.
Head of academy Thomas Bower said: “We as a school appreciated Shaun’s visit no end.
“We are extremely passionate about creating and encouraging ambitions for our children and our local heroes have been chosen carefully to represent the place we come from.
“Having one of those local heroes pay us a visit is an experience that our children will never forget - he was so kind and respectful and took his time to have conversations with every class in the school.”
Shaun added: “It was a great day and it’s amazing what they are doing at that school.”
